Customize your documents

RealAI can format the documents it creates to match your style, including your logo, fonts, colors, tables, and disclaimers. Formatting applies to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and PDF files, as well as web reports.

You can apply your format to a single analysis, or add it to an agent so every run uses it automatically.

Provide your format

RealAI can learn your format from either of the following:

• An example file: A past memo, model, deck, or report that already looks the way you want. RealAI uses it as a blueprint for structure, layout, and formatting. When RealAI fills in an existing template, your formatting and formulas stay intact.
• Formatting rules: A brand guide, a spec file, or just your logo. RealAI reads the file, pulls out the colors, fonts, and rules, and applies them. You can also type your specifications directly in the chat.

If you’re providing rules, include as much of the following as you can:

• Colors: Hex codes for primary, secondary, and accent colors, plus table header and highlight colors
• Fonts: Typeface names and sizes for headings, body text, and tables
• Logo: A PNG or SVG file, and where it should appear, such as the header, cover page, or footer
• Layout: Margins, header and footer text, page numbering, cover page style, disclaimer language, and section order
• Number conventions: For example, dollar amounts with no decimals, negative numbers in parentheses, or how to write cap rates

Format a single analysis

To apply your format to one analysis:

1. Start a new analysis from the homepage.
2. Select the paperclip icon. The Attach files dialog opens.
3. Do one of the following:
   • To choose a file from your file library, select it on the Select from files tab.
   • To upload a new file, select the Upload New tab.
4. Select Attach.
5. In the chat box, tell RealAI to use the attached file as the format template. For example: Use the attached memo as the format template for this report.
6. Select the up arrow to submit. RealAI formats the results to match your file.

To format a single run of an agent, attach your file in the agent’s form and add a note asking RealAI to use it as the format template. For details, see Use agents.

Format every run of an agent

To apply your format to every run of an agent:

1. Select Agents in the left sidebar.
2. Select your agent on the My agents tab. To format a curated agent, first customize it to create your own copy.
3. Select Edit in the top-right corner, then select Files next to the instructions.
4. Upload your file or choose one from your file library.
5. In the agent instructions, tell the agent to use your file as the format template. For example: Use the attached brand guide to format all reports.
6. Select Save changes in the top-right corner. Every future run uses your format.

What to expect

• RealAI closely matches colors, fonts, logos, headers and footers, and table styles.
• For complex designed layouts, such as heavily graphic cover pages, you’ll get the closest match by providing an example file rather than rules.
• Charts and maps shown in the chat use RealAI’s standard styling. Files that RealAI creates, such as Word documents and Excel workbooks, use your colors.
