# Customize an agent

> Make your own editable copy of a RealAI-curated agent and change its instructions and files.

You can customize a RealAI-curated agent by making your own editable copy, then change its instructions and attach files without affecting the original.

To customize a curated agent:

1. Select **Agents** in the left sidebar.
2. Select an agent on the **Curated by RealAI** tab.
3. Select **Customize**. In the dialog that opens, optionally update the name, then select **Customize** to create your copy.
4. Select **Edit** in the top-right corner. You can change the agent instructions, attached files, and default effort level.
5. Select **Save changes** in the top-right corner when your edits are complete.

> **Note:** Edits are versioned, so you can restore a previous version at any time.
